Internship opportunities at the EWL Secretariat
The EWL Secretariat runs has an internship programme aiming to provide students and recent graduates with a practical insight into political work on women’s rights and equality between women and men at European level and the functioning of the European Union institutions.
BPW Europe is represented in the Board of Administration of the European Women’s Lobby. Our BPW Europe Representative is Solveig Staffas, BPW Sweden.
The EWL is seeking to recruit a full time paid intern for the first half of 2012, starting 09 January 2012.

Interviews will be conducted in late November by telephone or in person in Brussels (exact date to be confirmed to shortlisted candidates). Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Please note that the EWL will not be able to reimburse expenses for interviews.

Unpaid internships within academic or other programmes, preferably sponsored by an institution other than EWL and for a period of 3 months. The conditions are the following:
•You are a student
•You are available for a duration of 3 months (or more if a longer internship is required by the university)
•Your internship can be regulated by a convention/contract with a school / university
•You have some demonstrated knowledge of women’s rights / gender equality issues and of European Union policies and institutions
•You have a valid work permit to work in Belgium (for persons who are not nationals of countries of the EU and European Economic Area (and for Romanian and Bulgarian nationals, where a work permit is still necessary until 2014), except for those who are studying in Belgium (requirement of Belgian legislation)).
